Are you still sporting 2018’s super short bob or is your pin-straight hair starting to feel stale? We feel you. There’s something about a brand New Year that makes us want to sport a fresh new look, and getting a new ‘do is one of the easiest ways to do just that.

Still stumped about your 2019 hairstyle? We’ve done the research so you don’t have to. Check out five of our favorite new ‘do’s that are guaranteed to be big this year.

The Blunt Lob

Don’t fret if your bob’s in the awkward growing-out stage; long bobs a.k.a. lobs are still going strong this year, and can look extra chic with a middle-part. (Check out Nadine’s sexy yet no-fuss style.) You can also try a version that ends right at your jawline, if you prefer to keep it short.

Bob with Bangs

Another quick refresh to the bob: Add bangs! They frame the face and lend a more youthful vibe, especially if you whip out the curling iron for a soft, wavy effect. Scared to rock the fringe? We recommend you start with curtain bangs, which feature longer side strands. It’s more flattering for most face shapes than blunt bangs.

Grown-Out Pixie

The ‘90s-favorite style makes a comeback with a more relaxed version, one that features long, choppy layers so there’s still some length to style. Look edgy with a disheveled ‘do—à la model-actress Cara Delevingne—or flaunt a polished finish by wearing it sleek and combed to perfection.

Bedhead Waves

Sexy waves aren’t going anywhere soon, especially with beach season coming up. Think second-day bedhead hair, only better: voluminous and bouncy, but never stiff or over-the-top. For this effortless look, a texturizing hairspray is your ultimate BFF. It holds curls without leaving hair sticky or clumpy.

Ultra Glossy

The obsession with high shine continues well into the New Year, as the “glass hair” trend (not glass skin!) takes over the beauty scene. This look is fairly easy to achieve, too: Time to bring out the shine-boosting conditioners, serums, and gloss-enhancing sprays for that blindingly beautiful finish.
